Abu Dhabi and Bin Drai remain unbeatable in the Julius Baer Gold Cup

25th February 2017, DUBAI, UAE: Abu Dhabi and Bin Drai are the only two undefeated teams in the Julius Baer Gold Cup 2017 after a great polo day at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club.

In two exciting games, Abu Dhabi defeated Bangash by 13 goals to 7 and Bin Drai won his match against Mahra by 10 goals to 8.

In the first match of the day, Abu Dhabi had to work hard to defeat Bangash, a team that never gives up.
Patron Faris Al Yabhouni´s team had in Alfredo Capella the key to achieve the victory after scoring 10 of the 13 goals of Abu Dhabi.
Bangash had a great first half but could not keep up the pace in the second half and in the last two periods Abu Dhabi achieved to increase the gap in the score and finally won the game by 13 goals to 7.

Abu Dhabi: 3-1/ 4-4/ 7-4/ 9-6/ 13-7

In the second match of the day, Bin Drai and Mahra played an exciting game that was decided in favor of patron Saeed Bin Drai´s team in the last minutes.
Actions were really tight during all the match and when one team achieved a two goal difference, quickly the other team made a comeback to tie the score.
In the last chukker, with Francisco Elizalde in a great afternoon (top scorer of the match with 5 goals), Bin Drai achieved the laborious victory by 10 goals to 8.

Bin Drai: 3-2/ 5-4/ 5-7/ 7-7/ 10-8

The Julius Baer Gold Cup will continue Tuesday 28th february with another double action day at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club.
Starting at 2pm, Bin Drai will face Julius Baer Team followed by Wolves against Zedan Polo.
