Far too many polo players consistently turn late. Also, their subconscious rules and misleads them into thinking that the ball will not reach them, until they see it actually arrive. There are four different times to turn but only the first is correct.
- Before the ball is struck, so that you can become the playmaker.
- One move late, after you see the ball has been struck.
- Two moves latter, after you see the ball has travelled some distance and it may even have reached or gone past you.
- Three moves late, after the last striker of the ball has overtaken you.
